STEVE PORTER BRINGS PORTERHOUSE 2

After the first installment of Porterhouse, and his Homegrown studio album, Steve Porter, one of the USA's rising stars, returns with a second Porterhouse mixing compilation. The two disc mix features a lot of Steve's own productions including original tracks and remixes, 14 in total, adding up to the lengthy tracklist, which totals 57, leaving no room for boredom and rendering him one of the fastest mixers within the genre.

Although a comparison with Carl Cox and Jeff Mills is hardly possible, given the differences in genre, the album reflects a fresh and hi-octane approach towards DJ-ing, including tracks by the likes of Paul Rincon, Slacker, Sucker DJs, Way Out West, Plump DJs, and Bassbin Twins. The variety of genres, fitting in the zeitgeist, and in line with Steve's Music With No Boundaries motto, in the words of Steve himself, 'covers the four essential food groups of dance music - breaks, house, techno and trance'. Although we tend to differ on the latter, variety is good, and the tracklist looks promising.

Fact is that Steve has stayed loyal to his production friends as well, as long term collaborators such as Emjae, Chris Micali, Matt Rowan and Roger Lee all have gotten a spot on the fantasy funk experience the emenates from Steve's homegrown Boston scene. The whole tracklisting is included below.
