Deze zag ik nog niet staan volgens mij (van dj-guide.nl):

The Beat Club terug na 16 jaar in Amsterdam!

De house karavaan van The BeatClub keert na 16 jaar terug in Amsterdam, en hoe. Op zaterdag 8 maart wordt er groots uitgepakt in Amsterdams meest functionele warehouse. Het programma verdeeld over twee zalen telt 10 top artiesten van de bovenste plank met onder andere Derrick May, MR C, DJ Per, Tom de Neef en Lucien Foort. RAVE RAVE RAVE!!!

The BeatClub keert in 2008 terug naar waar het ooit allemaal begonnen is, Amsterdam. In 1989 organiseerde DJ Per de eerste Amsterdamse BeatClub editie in Paradiso en ontketende daarmee de grootste dance-hype die Nederland ooit kende. In 3 jaar tijd organiseerde The BeatClub roemruchte raves op veelal illegale plekken en vervulde daarmee een pioniers rol. In 1992 werd in AHOY de kroon gezet op 3 jaar lang heftige events met de eerste mega-rave in Nederland. In de line-up stonden toen onder meer L’il Louis, Snap, Mike Pickering (Hacienda), Per en Eddy de Clercq.

Nu 19 jaar later is The BeatClub levendiger dan ooit met in maart 2008 opnieuw een eikpunt in haar roemrijke geschiedenis. Na 16 jaar afwezigheid in Amsterdam presenteert The BeatClub op zaterdag 8 maart een kersverse editie met een programma om van te watertanden.

In de grote zaal staan de abolute grootmeesters uit de internationale house geschiedenis. Niemand minder dan dan Derrick May, de man die geschiedenis schreef met ‘Strings of Life’, zal laten zien waarom hij nog steeds een enorme aantrekkingskracht heeft op de Nederlandse house-scene. Uit London komt MR C, oprichter van The
End (London), voormalig voorman van The Shamen (‘Move any Mountain’, ‘Ebenezer Good’) en compilator van een klassiek X-Mix album. Onmiskenbaar in de line-up is oprichter van The BeatClub en tevens resident dj van het eerste uur DJ Per. In de beginjaren van The BeatClub draaide hij vaak sets van wel 10 uur. De Brit Paul Jay, organisator van de legendarische Soho Connection in Paradiso complementeert de all-star line-up in de grote zaal.

In de bovenzaal staat een eveneens imponerende line-up, internationaal aangevoerd door de Belg Tom de Neef (Stealth/ Hed Kandi). De Neef wordt vaak geroemd als de protégé van Roger Sanchez en is wereldwijd resident van Hed Kandi. De Nederlandse grootmeesters die het klassieke house gevoel gaan weergeven zijn allen pioniers en kartrekkers van de kwaliteits-dance in Nederland en kennen hun klassiekers als geen ander. We noemen Marnix (Loveland), Lucien ‘Quadrophonia’ Foort en Marcello (iT, Chemistry). De zaal wordt mede gehost door Nachtwerk, voortgekomen uit Q-events, de organisatie bekend van FLITE (Loos gebouw) en het Royal Open Air Event (Koninginnedag voor de RoXY).

De locatie waar The BeatClub neerstrijkt is altijd van groot belang geweest. In de roemruchte BeatClub geschiedenis zijn onder ander woontorens, circustenten, warehouses en sporthallen te vinden. Ook was The BeatClub de eerste met een serie feesten te water. Voor de terugkeer naar Amsterdam is in The Powerzone de meest geschikte locatie gevonden om het gevoel van de BeatClub weer te geven. Sluitingstijd is 6.00 uur!! en geen last van buren, parkeerwachters en burgertrutten. De kaartverkoop voor The BeatClub start op maandag 14 januari. Ik wil hier wel heen maar vind de Powerzone een K** tent. Ga er nog even over nadenken en kijken wie er gaan tegen die tijd.

Wow :o Eindelijk mijn kans om de funky techno van May eens mee te maken, Pauperzone of niet... Maar dan hoop ik wel dat het soort feest het soort publiek trekt of is dat bij deze tent niet zo?

Gaan een hoop Earth-gangers naar toe voor zover ik weet, dus ik denk dat het wel gezellig gaat worden.
PZ kwam ik een jaar of wat geleden nog wel es en het publiek viel me eigenlijk best wel mee, komt overal vandaan en soms ook behoorlijk fout, ach....
wordt vast een leuk feest!

Vorig jaar was dit een errug leuk feestje in de Hemkade. Op een gegeven moment klapte Dimitri er gewoon Sasha's Expander in. Iedereen gek! Ik twijfel nog tussen deze en het Time Warp preparty feestje, maar neig steeds meer naar deze... Even overleg met de achterban plegen. Chantal? Rulestyler?

Vorig jaar zeker wel vermaakt inderdaad en Beatclub is wederom een stuk nostalgie. Op zich spreekt het me wel aan maar laat het mede afhangen van wie er gaan. Laten we even contact houden over wel of geen danspasjes leggen op de dansvloer van PZ, goed?
