ELECTROSHOCK
As the summer begins to heat up, Plastik Park kicks up the temperature with another steaming release of smooth progressive grooves. For this instalment, the talents of two rising stars from both sides of the pond are called upon to conjure the magic for the floor – Uruguay’s Logiztik Sounds and Dutch producer C-Jay.
With only 3 years of production experience under his belt, Nicholas Fronos aka Logiztik Sounds has made remarkable strides in the ever-expanding South American electronic music scene. Shortly after first discovering the progressive style, an injury resulting from a car accident provided the time for Nicholas to perfect his art. Making the best of his situation, his tracks quickly found their way into sets and charts from many of the world’s top touring jocks such as Hernan Cattaneo, Paul Van Dyk, Steve Gerrard, Anthony Pappa, Clubbervision, Andrew K. and countless others. His first release with Baunder on UK’s Segment Records planted his name firmly on the global market, while recent and upcoming releases on Pure Substance Records, Pangea Recordings and Acute Records guarantee that this young talent will remain a growing force for years to come.
Having recently come to prominence as one of the most in-demand Dutch producers, C-Jay’s releases have garnered across-the-board acclaim and attention from many of the top players, with his tracks regularly appearing in the playlists of Kasey Taylor, Satoshi Tomiie, Hernán Cattáneo, Anthony Pappa, Quivver, Shiloh, Jaydee, Chris Fortier and The Flash Brothers.
His collaborative efforts with prominent producers such as Jaydee, Mick Wilson, Eelke Kleijn and LeRon & Yves Eaux have been huge successes in a diverse range crowds. In 2004, C-Jay formed his own label, The Sessions Recordings, as an outlet for his unique stylings, which smoothly touch on deep trance atmospheres, tribal grooves and progressive structures. The success has been phenomenal, all but guaranteeing a bright future for him and those lucky enough to be caught in his wake on the dancefloor.
“Electroshock (Original)” is an entrancing, brooding number which is perfectly-suited for the endless depth of a dark night. A juicy bassline reminiscent of classic progressive influences gives an invigorating backbone while setting a misty mood. As the melody sneaks in, the track slowly drifts through space giving the listener a heavy musical journey into the deep.
“Electroshock (C-Jay Remix)” inserts a morsel of percussive bounce into the groove while transforming the wistful mood of the original into a vividly emotional piece of aural alchemy. The melody is seamlessly expanded, with previously-unheard layers effortlessly adjoined to add a character of mystery to the harmonic connotation. In crafting a piece that will work equally brilliantly under the light of the sun as in a smoky club, C-Jay has readily shown his prowess as a masterful remixer.
D-nox’s label continues it’s upwards rise!!
